FUN FACTS:

  • A Tantalizing, the film, is based on a little known, but much beloved one act play written by the masterful playwright, William Mastrosimone. Shareen Mitchell, carried the story of this play in her heart for 30 years before getting permission to make the film. She knew the value of the story because she had performed it to riveted audiences when yet an early member of The Actors Studio in NY.

  • Mr.Cullum trained up his voice and physical strength for 8 months before filming.

  • He turned 94 on set.

  • The film was shot in his building, the third floor being the production office and the second floor apartment, our set.

  • Director Katie Prael had previously made two shorts. Both proved her gifts in direction and editing. A Tantalizing is her feature directorial debut. She also edited the film.

  • We shot on a Red Helium 8K with Sigma Lenses

  • Katie grew up with our cinematographer Albert Strietmann

  • Albert’s father, Peter Strietmann is the famed cinematographer of River of Fundament, directed by Matthew Barney.

  • Katie’s father William Prael worked alongside Mr.Cullum the entire shoot. Her mom, artist Liz Prael, strongly influenced the production design and assisted daily. Maggie, the family dog also had a featured role in the film.

  • Oriana Cyprus, never having produced before, carried the bulk of the on set production and line producing on what was her first feature film.

  • We shot over 14 days, in NYC in late February and early March of 2024.

  • We had a crew of 8 assisted by friends and family.

  • Oriana Cyprus and Shareen Mitchell are sisters and formed their production company Two Sisters Media, Inc. in 2020. This feature is their first film.
